What we fear can frequently be the very thing that comes upon us. It may be given different names; “power of the mind”, “subliminal suggestion” are just two; but in all cases, our fears, if left unchecked, can become inhibiting.

With some regular “exercise” we can take back that part of our lives that “fear” may have hijacked. Fear is most often associated with vivid imagery in our minds and that imagery can contain triggers that set off emotions in such a way as to paralyze us. Fear may be played out in our minds as some combination of images, stories, movies, sounds and smells. When we realise that it is in our imaginations that these fears gain power, we can begin to take back lost ground.

We hold the key to success in overcoming fear. The key is our imagination. Our imagination is a powerful tool. With that tool, the human race has seen, and subsequently brought into reality, such things as putting a man on the moon, building a computer on a chip and creating things such as blogs.

Once we realise that it is in our imaginations that fear takes root, we can begin to fill our imaginations with imagery and stories of those things we desire rather than let fear fill up all the space with whatever it chooses.

Take back your imagination. Use it to create imagery of a positive future and say goodbye to fear.
